Who I am & What I do

Two years ago, I broke my leg in a surfing accident. One moment I was enjoying the beaches in Costa Rica. The next, I was stuck on my couch, unable to move or even cook a meal for myself. Movement had always been how I understood myself, how I coped, and how I processed emotion. Losing it forced me to see my life clearly for the first time in years.

Being stuck at home brought an uncomfortable truth to the surface. I had built a life where I stayed constantly busy, constantly stressed, and constantly disconnected from the things that mattered. Rest was not something I allowed myself. It only came when my body demanded it. I had spent almost a decade in tech sales, pushing through chronic back pain and convincing myself that burnout was normal. I treated joy like something to squeeze into weekends. I treated rest like a luxury instead of a requirement for health. That accident was not only a physical break. It was a wake-up call.

As I sat recovering, my body changed. I gained weight. My college graduation ring didn't fit anymore. Stairs felt impossible. I did not just feel weak. I felt ashamed and disappointed. I grieved the body I used to have and wondered if I would ever again feel capable in my own skin. Movement had always been my joy, and suddenly I was relearning the basics.

Pilates had been in and out of my life throughout my sales career, squeezed into whatever time I could carve out. It is also what carried me back to strength, mobility, and mental clarity. Pilates helped me feel powerful in college, and it helped me feel capable again in my adult body, one that had been shaped by stress and pain. It reminded me that movement is not something you earn. It is not about punishment or perfection. Movement is care. Movement is healing. Movement can feel good.

As an instructor who has lived through my own physical and emotional seasons, I guide my clients through theirs with patience, honesty, and humor. I will never scream at you like a drill sergeant. I might cheer for you louder than you expect. I believe in encouragement that feels real, not pressure disguised as motivation.

I am neurodivergent, so I teach the way my brain learns best. I lead with clarity and logic. I teach the “why” behind each movement so you can build trust in your body and make choices that support your nervous system instead of fighting against it. If fitness culture has ever made you feel behind, broken, or out of place, you were never the problem. You simply needed a different approach.

If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your body, you belong here. You do not need to be perfect. You do not need a new identity. You simply need a path that supports you in rebuilding confidence and strength one small, manageable step at a time. Tiny steps compound into meaningful change.

My work is about helping you feel capable, supported, and at home in your body again. If you are ready to move in a way that honors your body and your life, start with my free mindset guide or send me a message. I would love to help you return to strength, clarity, confidence, and joy in movement.
